Mechanical rotation and phase sequence relationship. D.c. generators and motors – markings for armatures; series, shunt and separate excited field windings; commutating and compensating windings and common terminals. Mechanical rotation and polarity relationship; colours for connecting leads.
Partially replaced by BS 4999:Part 3:1981, which has subsequently been replaced by BS 4999-108:1987.
