This powerpoint presentation stresses the importance of investigatinghydrophobic behavior of Mycobacterium avium ssp avium (MAA). Background information on MAA is provided and includes: Mycobacteria Avium Complex (MAC) is on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA)contaminant candidate list (CCL);current quantification methods are slow; Mycobacteria are known to behydrophobic, but to what extent; and, better detection methods are needed.
