Description
The objective of this project is to design, develop, and populate a database that captures critical elementsdefining the practice of water reuse as it exists in the nation. The database will be the heart of a web-enabledsoftware application built upon water reuse business principles that are established by allmembers of the project team including the consultant/contractor, utility stakeholders, and the WateReuseFoundation Project Advisory Committee.The web-enabled application will include:relational database containing reuse data gathered from State agencies and utilities;a survey instrument used as a tool to collect reuse data and populate the database (present and infuture);query and reporting functions allowing users to ask questions of the data; database design documentation for the Foundation’s use in maintaining the database; and,a summary report highlighting notable findings from the data collection effort. The paper discusses the overall approach to the project, including: requirements planning; database design; beta test and database modifications; acquiring state data; mapping state data; completing database and survey function; utility survey/verification; complete query function and results summary; and, application installation. Includes tables.
