Description
Compounds that cause taste and odor problems in drinking water have extremely low threshold-odor concentrations (as low as 2 ng/L), and therefore their precise quantification has been impracticable. Air stripping is economically unfeasible for removal of the compounds 2-isobutyl-3-methoxy pyrazine (IPMP), 2-isopropyl-3-methoxy pyrazine (IBMP), 2-methylisoborneol (MIB), and geosmin. However, air stripping may be an effective alternative for removal of trichloroanisole (TCA). Includes 31 references, tables, figures.
