Description
The objectives of this slide presentation on project delivery systems (PDS) were to: provide an overview of City of Henderson andthe Department of Utility Services;discuss Henderson’s Project Delivery driversand history;provide an overview of the PDS methodology;describe the benefits, considerations andchallenges; and,discuss the results to date. Project Delivery System Drivers included:City’s fast growth has led to the need to updatethe ad-hoc project delivery process whichserved the City well when it was smaller;growing number of projects straining humanresources;many Project Managers / Engineers handlingover 50 projects; lack of systematic process;lack of agreed to process for managing theproject portfolio; difficulty ofplanning, managing, controlling andmeasuring projects; and, inability for management to obtainconsistent information on project status. Project history, the 9-step project methodology process, the project management (PM) process, example of a PM sub-process, PM tools, training and piloting approach, project delivery system benefits, considerations and challenges and results are all outlined.
