Description
Cooperation between the water supply industry and the irrigation industryhas resulted in very real gains for water conservation in residential landscapes. This paper discusses the “SmartWater Application Technologies” (SWAT), which uses “smart”residential irrigation controllers that operate by measuring the evapotranspiration rate of theplants, or the amount of moisture in the soil, instead of by a clock or timer. This paper discusses ten strategies that helped get this product to market successfully.
